Autumn Blaze (also known as Jeffersred) and Manitoba Sensation maple trees seem to be a hit this year. These two beauties have their leaves turn red in the fall and what better colour for Canada's big birthday?
We are expecting another shipment soon and we hope to have a few extras on hand sometime in early August. I know there's a bunch of folks patiently waiting for the delivery and so are we!
Please remember to water new trees and shrubs with infrequent, slow and deep watering especially when it's dry season!
This looks like it could be a dry year but either way, those of you with plantings under 2 years old please don't forget to give your trees and shrubs generous servings of water!
Remember; up to 90% of the fine roots that the plants use to absorb water and nutrients are damaged during their journey to a new location! When you do water.. the key is to dispense lots of water slowly and infrequently and only on the ground. Short and frequent watering does not train the roots to grow. Water sprinkled on the leaves on a hot day can cause their stomata to close which can cause the leaves to overheat and scorch afterwards!
You can always ask us any question about your plants and we'll do our best to help!
